Abstract

In the age of democratization, transparency of government policies is important to gain the trust of the public. So, in addition to the use of the media to inform government programs, the use of social media is also currently required. The use of social networks can affect the individual audience. The current use of social media also affects the interaction between the community and policy makers. Social media is a practical and fast technology for anyone to use easily. Due to its practical nature, social media has also become an option for political figures and government to report through social media. One of the most used social networks today is Twitter. The political communication carried out by the candidate for West Java governor will inspire all parties, especially the people of West Java, to find out which candidate is the most representative to lead West Java in the future with the complexity of the problems that exist in West Java. The method used is the phenomenological method of Alfred Schutz. Alfred Schutz's approach differs from Husserl's approach, according to which Schutz's phenomenological approach to social reality can be characterized as immanent and mundane. Schutz is not really talking about revealing a certain character of a phenomenon, but rather as a concept of social history in a conscious and real flow of social life, also including the social world as a holistically interpreted reality. Schutz's phenomenology sees the world of everyday life as a fundamental and more important human reality that is constructed as intersubjectivity. Political Communication Ridwan Kamil, as one of the 2018 West Java Governor Candidates, has chosen Twitter social media as a political communication tool to win the votes of West Java people starting from the city of Bandung.
