Live streaming has become a trend widely used by Mango Live application users, both to showcase their talents and to seek income. Mango Live is a live streaming platform that focuses on entertainment and streaming content with ease, while providing opportunities for individuals to earn money by becoming hosts or broadcasters on the Mango Live application. The aim of this research is to examine how Mango hosts present themselves and use verbal and nonverbal communication during live broadcasts to attract viewers. This research employs a qualitative research method with a constructivist approach. Purposive sampling techniques are used to select informants. Data is collected through interviews and observations. The research findings indicate that the verbal communication by hosts involves friendly greetings to the audience and reading comments provided by viewers through the live chat. Additionally, having a cheerful and pleasant facial expression is crucial for effective nonverbal communication for a host. By combining both aspects of communication, both verbal and nonverbal, hosts enhance the way they present themselves during live broadcasts, ultimately increasing interaction and engagement between hosts and viewers.
